Long Serving MEI Middle School Principal Pursuing New Ventures

Heather Smith has served the MEI Schools community faithfully and passionately for 27 years. She has served as a secondary school teacher, secondary school vice principal, and middle school principal. In her most recent position, Heather helped to open the middle school as the first principal and has built a team of educators that put the needs of students first in all that they do.

In addition to her work at the middle school, Heather has served as the champion of international outreach by helping to establish the school’s Missions Program and has helped to create and lead the first Learning Support Services Campus Lead position overseeing the needs of the school’s most vulnerable learners.

I thank Heather for the service that she has provided to MEI Schools and wish her the very best in her future endeavours. She continues to have my respect and the respect of the MEI community for her professional and faithful service.

Sean LaForest, the school’s vice principal, has stepped into the role of Acting Principal and Sandra Fehr, Grade 8 Teacher and Team Leader, will serve as Acting Vice Principal until further notice.

MEI plans to post the Middle School Principalship in the fall with the hopes of having a permanent principal in place for January, 2021.
